Extinction or extermination?
Iran bans abortion and contraception, and also pays incentives to women to have more children. The Islamic Republic of Iran wishes its population to rise from 80 million to 150 million. It has increased the penalties for unmarried women having abortions. Any free contraception is now also ended. Longer jail terms have been introduced. COMMENT: This will have devastating consequences: (1) deaths of more women in Iran; (2) more women in jail in Iran; (3) exodus of women from Iran to have abortions, and some permanently, mainly to Europe; (4) a lack of water for an exponentially growing population. (Iran has experienced protests over lack of water). [BBC Radio 198fm, 15 July 2023. Interview with Miss Sabah Saburai about illegal abortions in Iran]

Sirs, I refer to your recent article: "Tanzania’s population up 27% since 2012 to 61.7 million. Tanzania’s national population reached 61,741,120 in 2022, a 27.23 percent increase from 2012, preliminary census results shows. "
I ask this question:- "DOES THE GOVERNMENT OF TANZANIA AND DOES THE GOVERNMENT OF ZANZIBAR HAVE A TARGET MAXIMUM POPULATION FOR TANZANIA? Background: The human population is rising at 2.98%; annually. Could you kindly press these governments to make plans to stabilise the population at say 80 million? Families are too large at an average of 4 children born per woman in her lifetime; men able to have multiple wives; contraception shunned or not talked about; girls getting married too young and so on. Tanzania's growing population will put UK and Europe under increasing pressure of immigration. END
METRO NEWSPAPER 17 AUGUST 2022Human population set to cross 8,000,000,000 ‘any day now’https://metro.co.uk/2022/08/16/human-population-set-to-cross-8000000000-any-day-now-17190768/In 2023, India is expected to surpass China as the world’s most populous country. The earth is getting as crowded as it’s ever been as the world’s population is due to cross the 8 billion mark this year. The global population is projected to reach 8 billion on 15 November 2022 according to a UN study. In spite of the huge number, the world’s population is growing at its slowest rate since 1950, having fallen under 1% in 2020.The latest projections by the United Nations suggest that the world’s population could grow to around 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050. It is projected to reach a peak of around 10.4 billion people during the 2080s and to remain at that level until 2100.More than half of the projected increase in the global population up to 2050 will be concentrated in eight countries: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and the United Republic of Tanzania.Countries of sub-Saharan Africa are expected to contribute more than half of the increase anticipated through 2050.The share of the global population over 65 is expected to rise from 10% in 2022 to 16% in 2050. In that case, there will be more 65-year-olds in the world than children under 5.The global life expectancy is also better than it used to be as it reached 72.8 years in 2019, an improvement of almost 9 years since 1990. This could go up to 77.2 years in 2050.However, where you’re born determines your life expectancy. In 2021, life expectancy for the least developed countries lagged 7 years behind the global average. The effect of the pandemic has also contributed to a fall in global life expectancy at birth fell to 71.0 years in 2021.[UK] According to the latest census, the population of England and Wales now stands at almost 60 million people – a rise of more than 3.5 million in a decade. The two nations are now home to 59,597,300, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said – with 56,489,800 in England and 3,107,500 in Wales.

[MSN, 30.10.21] Questioned about the stakes for COP26, UK Prime Minister Johnson [shameful but shameless father of 7 children so far – that we know about so far] reiterated his warnings about the consequences for the globe. “If you increase the temperatures of the planet by four degrees or more, as they are predicted to do remorselessly, you’ll have seen the graphs, then you produce these really very difficult geopolitical events,” he told Channel 4 News. “You produce shortages, you produce desertification, habitat loss, movements, contests for water, for food, huge movements of peoples. Those are things that are going to be politically very, very difficult to control. “Unless you can make sure next week at COP26 in Glasgow that we keep alive this prospect of restricting the growth in the temperature of the planet then we really face a real problem for humanity.” “Too many countries are still doing too little,” the prime minister’s spokesperson said. (USA) MORE THAN ONE IN FOUR ADULTS DON’T WANT CHILDREN, US RESEARCH FOUND. THOSE WITH NO KIDS BY CHOICE ARE AS HAPPY AS PARENTS AND MORE LIBERAL ACCORDING TO THE STUDY OF 1000 PEOPLE. PROFESSOR ZACHARY NEAL SAID: “WE FOUND NO DIFFERENCES IN LIFE SATISFACTION.” [LONDON METRO 16 JUNE 2021]
(DAILY MAIL, UK, 28 OCTOBER 2021) FINALLY, PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD ARE REALISING WE REALLY DO HAVE A CLIMATE CRISIS. COP26 IS BEING HERALDED AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT SERIOUS ACTION PLANS IN PLACE TO SAVE OUR PLANET. FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS HUMANS HAVE BEEN PLUNDERING THE NATURAL WORLD AND DESTROYING HABITATS AND SPECIES.
WE ARE NOW TALKING ABOUT CARBON EMISSIONS, REWILDING AND BRINGING BACK SPECIES ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION. THERE IS TALK OF AMBITIOUS TREE PLANTING SCHEMES, BUT SOME OTHER COUNTRIES CONTINUE TO DESTROY THE GREAT FORESTS OF THE WORLD. HUMAN POPULATIONS CONTINUE TO INCREASE AND USE UP LAND AND RESOURCES. VAST NUMBERS ARE STARVING. I’D LIKE TO ASK: ARE WE TOO LATE? WHAT IF ALL WE ARE DOING IS REARRANGING THE DECK CHAIRS ON THE TITANIC. PLANET EARTH HAS WITNESSED EXTINCTIONS OVER MILLIONS OF YEARS. AFTER THE AGE OF THE DINOSAURS, WARM BLOODED MAMMALS AND BIRDS INHERITED THE EARTH. WE FEEL WE ARE THE TOP SPECIES AND OUR LARGE BRAINS AND TECHNOLOGICAL POWER CAN INSULATE US FROM ANYTHING NATURE CAN THROW AT US. COVID HAS SHAKEN US TO THE CORE, THOUGH OUR INGENUITY HAS ENABLED US TO MOUNT A STERN DEFENCE. DESPITE OUR PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY WE HAVE TO REALISE HUMANS ARE NOT INVULNERABLE TO EXTINCTION. ONE DAY OUR TIME MIGHT COME TO AN END AND ANOTHER SPECIES COULD INHERIT THE EARTH. [LETTER TO THE DAILY MAIL FROM DON TOWNSHEND, A READER]
